Overseas Vietnamese in Europe get ready for Lunar New Year

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese Tet fair will be held in the suburbs of London from January 18 to January 19 on the threshold of the Lunar New Year, with the traditional Tet festival being both the biggest and longest festive annual event for Vietnamese people.

The function will be jointly organised by the Vietnamese Community Association in the UK and the Vietnamese Student Association in the UK with the aim of bringing the warm Tet atmosphere to the Vietnamese community in the European country.

During the course of the two-day fair, Vietnamese expats based in the UK, as well as British consumers, will have the chance to purchase typical items for a traditional Tet and experience the atmosphere of preparing for the Lunar New Year.

Visitors will join in with the Banh Chung (square, glutinous rice cake) cooking contest, a photo contest, and play folk games.

The event will also include lion dance performances, a fashion show of Ao Dai (traditional long dress), and art performances, among other activities.

The largest and most celebrated holiday in Vietnam, Tet will last from January 29 to January 31, 2025.
