VOV.VN - The Phu Yen Provincial Border Guard Command reported on February 8 that a Taiwanese fishing vessel with four crew members on aboard had drifted off the local coast.
The vessel JYNCAY N07 is 22 meters long with a 450-horsepower engine and operates as a trawler. It was discovered drifting about 1 nautical mile from the coast of Dong Hoa town.
The Border Guard quickly dispatched a patrol team and safely rescued the four crew members.
Among them were three Taiwanese nationals identified as Luo Wen Jiun, 61; Jia Ming, 42; and Hwang Jiun Cherw, 23.
The last crew member was Luu Van Binh, 43, of Vietnamese nationality, working abroad in Taiwan.
The rescued crew members were given health checks and provided temporary accommodations at the Border Guard Station. The fishing vessel was pushed ashore by waves at Hoa Hiep Bac Ward.
Authorities will arrange for an interpreter to gather additional information and carry out necessary procedures.
