
VOV.VN - Two trains consisting of three carriages each for the Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line No. 1, which will run from Ben Thanh market to Suoi Tien theme park, arrived at Khanh Hoi Port in the southern city on May 10.
The arrival of these vital parts of the metro line marks the third out of a total of 17 trains which are due to be imported and then transported to Ho Chi Minh City from Kasado Port in Japan, ahead of undergoing a trial run of the route.
After being unloaded from the port, the three-carriage trains will subsequently be transported by truck along a 26km route on May 11 to the Long Binh Depot in District 9.
The next four trains are set to arrive in HCM City in June and July.
The first train docked at Ho Chi Minh’s Khanh Hoi Port on October 8, 2020, aboard the vessel Bayani.
The southern city’s first metro line will consist of a total of 14 stations along a 19.7km route and will include an underground section of 2.6km and 17.1km of elevated tracks.

The completion of Metro Line No 1 project in Ho Chi Minh City linking Ben Thanh Market in District 1 with Suoi Tien Tourist Park in District 9 is likely to be delayed to after 2021, the municipal Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR) has stated.
