VOV.VN - Typhoon Bualoi is rapidly moving toward the East Sea and is expected to affect northern Vietnam in the coming days, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
At 1:00 a.m. on September 26, Bualoi was located over central Philippines, with maximum wind speed near the centre reaching 103 - 117kmh. It was moving west-northwest at a speed of 25 - 30kmh.
The typhoon is forecast to enter the eastern part of the East Sea by the night of September 26, becoming the 10th storm of its kind to hit the regional waters in the stormy season this year.
Notably, the typhoon is moving toward the north-central part of Vietnam after entering the East Sea, maintaining its gale-force winds of 103-117kph.
In the coming days, Bualoi will roar fast at speeds of 25-30kph before reducing its intensity.
Meanwhile, typhoon Ragasa weakened into a tropical depression and dissipated after making landfall along the northern coast of Vietnam.
Heavy rain has been lashing the northern and north-central regions, raising concerns about flooding in low-lying and urban areas and flashfloods and landslides in mountainous areas.
Authorities advise residents to closely monitor weather updates, take precautions against flooding and landslides, especially in mountainous and low-lying areas, and prepare for possible travel disruptions and damage to infrastructure and livelihoods.
VOV.VN - While super typhoon Ragasa is losing its strength, a tropical storm has formed in the waters of the Philippines and is likely to head toward central Vietnam.
VOV.VN - Super Typhoon Ragasa has weakened after several hours of intense activity over the East Sea but remains a powerful storm and is expected to make landfall along the northern coastal provinces of Vietnam on September 25.
VOV.VN - Ragasa, the ninth storm to hit the East Sea this year, is likely to weaken before entering the Gulf of Tonkin, but the typhoon still poses major risks with strong winds, high waves, and heavy rainfall forecast for northern and north-central Vietnam.
