VOV.VN - The scientific and educational organisation "Meeting Vietnam" on August 26 presented a total of 465 Vallet scholarships to several outstanding students at high schools and universities based in southern provinces and cities.
Among these, a total of 304 scholarships were granted to high school students, each worth VND15 million (US$602), whilst 155 scholarships were dedicated to students in universities and higher education, each worth VND29 million, (US$1,165).
Established back in 2001, the organisation’s Vallet Scholarship Fund has been sponsored by Professor Odon Vallet from France’s Sorbonne University. It has been the largest non-governmental scholarship fund in the nation over the past two decades.
Professor Vallet presented the scholarship fund of the organisation “Meeting Vietnam”, led by Prof. Tran Thanh Van and his wife, Prof. Le Kim Ngoc, to award scholarships to excellent students and pupils from the nation.
So far, the scholarship fund has granted more than 80,000 scholarships to outstanding students and pupils of France, the Republic of Benin, and Vietnam.
The scientific and educational organisation “Meeting Vietnam” presented 126 Vallet scholarships worth VND1.9 billion (US$80,750) in total to outstanding students in the central province of Nghe An on September 7.
The scientific and educational organisation "Meeting Vietnam" on September 2 presented 230 Vallet scholarships worth VND4 billion (US$170,484) in total to outstanding students in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
As many as 229 outstanding students in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue received Vallet scholarships during a ceremony on October 29.
