VASS, Lao Academy sign five-year scientific cooperation agreement

The signing ceremony was co-chaired by Professor Le Van Loi, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of VASS, and Dr. Anouphap Tounalom, Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of NAPPA, alongside representatives from relevant agencies of both sides.

This signing is  a political and scientific event of profound strategic significance, aiming to concretize the guidelines, resolutions, and policies of the two Parties and States.

Amid complex regional and international developments, the cooperation in social sciences and political theory between NAPPA and VASS will serve as a crucial factor in providing scientific arguments and databases to serve socio-economic policymaking and strategic planning. Furthermore, this cooperation helps tighten the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic ties between the two Parties, States, and peoples.

The 2026-2030 cooperation agreement outlines four core areas: scientific research and policy advice, focusing on joint research projects, scientific seminars, and policy recommendations; human resource training and development, emphasizing post-graduate education (Master's and Ph.D.), political theory advancement, research methodology, foreign languages, and modern teaching methods; professional exchanges and international integration, involving delegations, specialized groups, international forums, and knowledge-network building; and data sharing and digital transformation, centered on exchanging publications and building interconnected digital scientific databases for joint research.

Both sides agreed to implement the agreement through concrete annual plans. The heads of VASS and NAPPA reaffirmed their resolve to foster substantive cooperative activities, actively contributing to the prosperous and sustainable development and defence of both nations.
