VOV.VN - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Hoang Cong Thuy met with officials from the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on July 19.
The meeting gathered officials from Vietnamese representative agencies and around 30 delegates representing various community organizations, including the associations of Vietnamese nationals, businesses, entrepreneurs and investment, students, and women.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Vu Ho briefed on the situation of the local community, noting that the embassy is strengthening the network of associations and coordinating with authorities in both nations to support citizens, aiming to enhance the community's role as a bridge for the Vietnam-RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Community representatives shared that there are currently over 350,000 Vietnamese nationals living, working, and studying in the RoK, including nearly 100,000 Vietnamese brides in multicultural families and over 100,000 international students.
The delegates discussed their activities in community bonding, cultural promotion, and helping expatriates integrate into the host country.
Addressing the event, VFF Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy applauded the community’s contributions to the bilateral relationship. He urged the associations and residents to maintain unity, respect RoK laws, preserve their cultural identity, and encourage youth participation in community-based activities.
He affirmed that the VFF will continue to coordinate with the embassy and relevant agencies to listen to the expatriates' aspirations and facilitate policies that enhance connections with the community.
On this occasion, the VFF leader presented Vietnamese-language books to the Vietnamese Association in the RoK to support language preservation among the younger generation.
