Vietnam Fatherland Front appeals for support to flood victims

VOV.VN - The Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee has issued a call for action in response to severe losses of lives and property caused by the recent exceptional floods in the central region.

The recent floods have severely impacted families, destroying homes and property, and disrupting daily life. In response, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government, and local authorities have promptly directed relief efforts, while the army, police, and rescue teams have mobilized to protect lives and property.

In its appeal, the Vietnam Fatherland Front that gathers the aggregate strength of the national unity bloc urged citizens, businesses, organisations, overseas Vietnamese, and foreign residents living and working in Vietnam to join hands in assisting affected communities.

It emphasised Vietnam’s long-standing tradition of mutual support and unity encouraging every contribution, large or small, to help people stabilise their lives, restore livelihoods, and return to normalcy.

The organisation pledged that all donations would be allocated transparently, accurately, and promptly to ensure the most practical and timely support reaches those in need.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front expressed confidence that, with the nation’s enduring spirit of solidarity and compassion, people in the central region will soon overcome hardships, rebuild homes, and restore their lives.

As of the morning of November 23, prolonged floods and landslides across several provinces have left 102 people dead or missing, according to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
