Vietnamese experts’ great contributions to Cambodia’s recovery praised

At the event, Dao Ngoc Hung, head of the liaison board of the group,  hailed the experts’ significant contributions to the revival of Cambodia following the fall of the brutal Pol Pot genocidal regime as well as the country’s socio-economic development.

With timely and effective support of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, Cambodia’s revolutionary force and people successfully overthrew the Pol Pot regime, culminating in the country’s liberation on January 7, 1979 - a historical milestone that marked a new era of independence, freedom and development for Cambodia.

Experts also helped Cambodia craft policies and plans to restore and develop its economy, culture and society after liberation as the country faced daunting tasks of rebuilding from the devastation left by the Pol Pot regime, he said, adding that despite difficulties, they approached their mission with remarkable dedication, sharing hardships with Cambodian friends and working tirelessly despite numerous challenges.

The experts’ pure assistance indicated revolutionary heroism while contributing to Cambodia’s recovery in the 20th century, he  said.

Others showed their confidence that the contributions made by the Vietnamese volunteer experts and soldiers will be a legacy for the two countries’ younger generations.
