VNPT finishes in Top 3 at World Cybersecurity Championship

VOV.VN - VNPT Cyber Immunity team of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) secured an impressive Top 3 finish at the 2025 International Cybersecurity Championship in Russia, placing Vietnam on the global cybersecurity leaderboard, VNPT said on June 5.

The annual competition brings together top-tier cybersecurity teams from around the world, testing their skills in defending systems and investigating cyberattacks on a large scale. The 2025 finals, hosted in Russia, featured 116 teams from nearly 30 countries, including strong contenders from cybersecurity powerhouses such as Russia, India, Thailand, Belarus, and Malaysia.

Vietnam had sent several representatives including NCS, and VNPT, but only VNPT Cyber Immunity advanced to the finals after topping the qualifier leaderboard with the highest score.

During the qualifiers, teams competed in the Capture The Flag (CTF) format, tackling advanced challenges in cryptography, digital forensics, malware reverse engineering, web exploitation, steganography, and complex mixed-skill challenges.

VNPT Cyber Immunity surpassed 41 teams to lead Group 3 with 7,200 points, outscoring Group 1 winners Russia with 4,500 points and Group 2 winners Belarus with 5,100 points.

In the final round, facing off against the world’s elite, VNPT Cyber Immunity maintained their strong form, by demonstrating flexible response strategies, sharp tactical thinking, and seamless teamwork. The team excelled in key areas such as system hardening, blue team operations, reverse engineering, and the “King of the Hill” server takeover challenge.

Thanks to strategic coordination, agility, and technical depth, VNPT Cyber Immunity made history by securing a Top 3 overall finish in the fiercely competitive finals.
