VOV.VN - The 62nd General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) opened on September 14 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, hosted by the Mongolian National Broadcaster.
Nearly 300 delegates from 65 countries are attending under the theme on the media’s vital role in safeguarding cultural and national heritage.
The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) delegation, led by Nguyen Van Chi, Deputy Secretary of VOV’s Party Committee, is participating.
In his remarks, ABU Vice President Inoue Tatsuhiko emphasized that by harnessing new technologies and contributions from broadcasters, media organizations can strengthen audience trust and fulfill their social missions.
The five-day event features a Media Leaders Forum, thematic discussions on technological adaptation and cultural preservation, and ABU Awards Ceremony, where VOV has two entries shortlisted for the 2025 ABU Awards.
VOV.VN - Voice of Vietnam won the award for Interactive Radio Program at the 54th Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union’s General Assembly in Chengdu on November 3.
