VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union held a launching ceremony on February 24 for Youth Month 2024, which is running with the theme of "Youth volunteers for community life".
Youth Month 2024 is getting underway from February 24 to March 31, with many practical and meaningful contents, projects, and contributions. This includes continuing to implement seven youth projects of municipal union members to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national unification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and devising 11 targets with many specific contents.
In his speech at the ceremony, Ngo Minh Hai, permanent deputy secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union called on the city's youth to make greater efforts to contribute to boosting its own development in the lead up to the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national unification.
The same day saw the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union launch the 15th "Young Scientific Intellectual Volunteers in Ho Chi Minh City" programme.
The scheme is taking place from February to December with a view to promoting digital transformation in the community in a comprehensive and focused manner.
Additionally, the 2024 "Youth with traffic culture" festival with the theme of "Application of digital transformation in traffic culture propaganda" was also held in the southern city in response to the Year of Traffic Safety 2024.
A cultural exchange took place on January 23 at Cu Chi Tunnels historical site in Ho Chi Minh City between young officers of the city’s armed forces and students of Laos and Cambodia who are studying in the southern metropolis.
