VOV.VN - Vietnam secured another podium finish at the ongoing 2026 Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship in India with a bronze medal in the men’s 50 m pistol team event on February 7.
In the 50 m pistol team competition, the Vietnamese trio - Lai Cong Minh, Pham Quang Huy and Nguyen Dinh Thanh - amassed 1,630 points, earning third place behind hosts India and Uzbekistan. Vietnamese shooters did not secure medals in the individual events.
Earlier in the competition, Vietnam claimed a silver medal in the women’s 10 m air pistol team event, led by Trinh Thu Vinh, Trieu Thi Hoa Hong and Nguyen Thuy Trang, marking the team’s first medal at the Championships.
In the women’s 10 m air rifle event, Phi Thanh Thao advanced from qualification with 627.8 points but finished 6th in the final. Le Thi Mong Tuyen narrowly missed out on the final.
With this result, the Vietnamese team has so far collected one silver and one bronze medal at the Asian Championships.
Vietnam will compete in two further events on February 8 - 25 m men’s standard pistol and 10 m mixed team air rifle.
