The official Facebook page of the FIFA Women’s World Cup recently posted a photo of head coach of Vietnamese women's team Mai Duc Chung with the Vietnamese caption “Anh hùng Lao động” (Labor Hero).

This recognition comes after Coach Mai Duc Chung was awarded the title of Labor Hero for his outstanding contributions to creativity-driven work, as well as his dedication to the cause of building socialism and defending the nation.

The FIFA post also featured the hashtag "#BeyondGreatness" to celebrate Chung's remarkable achievements.

At 73, Chung has dedicated nearly 30 years to women's football. Under his leadership, the Vietnamese women's team has claimed six gold medals at eight SEA Games, won the 2019 AFF Cup, secured fourth place at the 2014 ASIAD, fifth place at the 2022 Asian Cup, and earned a historic spot at the 2023 World Cup, the highest achievement in the country's women's football history.

This year, Coach Chung will continue to lead the team in their quest for the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers, the Southeast Asian Championship, and the 2025 SEA Games.
