VOV.VN - Vietnamese marksmen will compete in the Asian Rifle & Pistol Championship 2024, with the event scheduled to take place from January 5 to January 18, 2024 in Jakarta in Indonesia.
The team will consist of several outstanding shooters who are hoping to represent the nation at next year's Paris Olympics. They include Pham Quang Huy, Trinh Thi Vinh, Lai Cong Minh, Phan Cong Minh, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, and Nguyen Thuy Trang.
To date Vietnam have earned one place at the Paris Olympics in the women's 10m air pistol event through Trinh Thu Vinh.
At the Asian Rifle/Pistol Cup 2023, Nguyen Thuy Trang won a gold medal for Vietnam in the women’s 10m air pistol event. Meanwhile, other Vietnamese shooters also grabbed silver and bronze medals at the women’s air rifle category.
Moving forward, the Vietnamese shooting team plans to take training courses and participate in the qualifying round of the Olympics ahead in April, 2024, in Brazil.
