VOV.VN - The National Gymnastics Championships 2023 opened in Hanoi on October 26, attracting the participation of nearly 60 athletes and coaches from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Army, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City.
The athletes are competing for 14 sets of medals in the men’s and women’s team, the men’s and women’s individual all-round, and men’s and women’s individual categories.
Bui Trung Thien, head of the Vietnam Gymnastics Division at the Vietnam Sports Administration, said the tournament is to select talented athletes for long-term training in the lead up to regional and international competitions, especially the qualification round of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Young talented athletes will be selected for training in Vietnam and overseas for international competitions, said Thien.
The tournament is scheduled to last through to October 29.
