VOV.VN - The Vietnamese women’s national football team have ended the year at 37th place in the FIFA rankings, as announced by the world’s football governing body in its latest rankings.
The FIFA rankings show that Vietnamese players accumulated a total of 1,614.43 points.
The Vietnamese women’s team were still able to maintain their top position in Southeast Asia, followed by the Philippines at 41st in the world and Thailand at 45th in the globe.
In terms of Asia as a whole, Vietnam came in at sixth, trailing behind regional powerhouses such as Japan in first place, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in second, Australia in third, China in fourth, and the Republic of Korea in fifth.
Elsewhere, the United States retained the top spot globally, followed by Spain in second, Germany in third, England in fourth, while Sweden dropped to fifth to complete the top five.
The next FIFA rankings will be released on March 6, 2025.
