VOV.VN - Vietnamese athletes on December 10 secured their first medal in Ju-jitsu at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) that is getting underway in Thailand.
On the first official day of competition, Phung Thi Hong Ngoc and Nguyen Ngoc Bich earned 48 points in the women’s Duo Show final, winning the bronze medal.
In the qualifiers, the pair scored 47.5 points, ranking third to advance to the final.
The gold medal went to Thailand 2 team with 51 points, followed by Thailand 1 team with 48.5 points. Laos scored 43.5 points, finishing outside the medal positions.
Vietnam is also hoping for its first gold medals in key sports, particularly swimming. All seven Vietnamese swimmers advanced to the finals, scheduled to take place at 18:00 on December 10.
