VOV.VN - The draw for the 2021 Futsal World Cup is scheduled to take place on June 1, and Vietnam are considered a seeded team in group four, according to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
FIFA divided each of the teams into seeds ahead of the draw, with their group being based on their various achievements during the past five FIFA Futsal World Cups.
The Vietnamese futsal team have been put into group four alongside Morocco, Uzbekistan, Angola, Venezuela, and the United States.
The 2021 Futsal World Cup is due to take place in Lithuania from September 12 to October 3 with a total of 24 teams competing across six groups.
The top 12 teams and the best four third-placed teams will then progress to the Round of 16.
This year marks the second time that Vietnam have qualified for the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
In the 2016 event held in Colombia, the national team made it through the group stage for the first time. They then lost to Russia in the Round of 16, who subsequently went on to finish as runners-up in the tournament.
