VOV.VN - Local volleyball players are set to take on opponents from Italy, Japan, and Brazil at the 2024 International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship, according to the draw ceremony’s result held recently by FIVB.
Ninh Binh team of Vietnam have been drawn in Group B alongside Imoco Conegliano of Italy, Praia Clube of Brazil, and NEC Red Rockets of Japan.
Group A includes Tianjin of host nation China, Vero Volley Milano of Italy, Zamalek SC of Egypt, and Gerdau Minas of Brazil.
They will compete in a round-robin format with the top two teams in each group advancing to the semi-final stage.
This comes after Ninh Binh team won a silver medal at the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship and secured a spot in the World Championship which is scheduled to take place from December 17 to December 22 in China. The local team will first play against NEC Red Rockets on December 17.
The Asian Volleyball Confederation drew Vietnamese clubs into two different groups of the 2024 Asian Women's Championship to be held later this month.
