VOV.VN - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has recognised Vietnamese female referee Tran Thi Thanh as meeting the standards of its Elite level.
According to the recent announcement, Thanh successfully completed the AFC Women Referees & Assistant Referees Selection 2024 course which took place in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia from February 19 to 22.
Thanks to the accreditation, the Vietnamese referee will be chosen to officiate important events over the coming year.
To prepare for future fixture, Thanh will be invited to attend a seminar on AFC women referees which is scheduled to take place in August.
Six other Vietnamese women were also selected on the list of elite AFC referees. However, due to health problems, two of them were forced to withdraw in 2023.
Previously, AFC appointed female referees Le Thi Ly as main referee and Ha Thi Phuong as assistant referee in the final round of the 2024 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup in Uzbekistan.
