VOV.VN - Bamboo Airways has announced plans to reopen the air route connecting Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam and Bangkok of Thailand from November 26, one year on after the suspension of the route for restructuring purposes.
Initially, it will operate one round-trip flight per day between Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Don Mueang International Airport, said a Bamboo Airways representative.
The reopening of the air route marks an important milestone for the airline as it looks to re-establish its regular international flight network a year on from the previous suspension period focusing on restructuring, said Luong Hoai Nam, general director of Bamboo Airways.
This can be viewed as a strong testament to Bamboo Airways' positive recovery, he added.
Nam also revealed that on the occasion of the re-opening, Bamboo Airways will offer attractive ticket prices starting from VND0 (excluding taxes and fees), applying for all of the airline's official distribution channels.
The airline also plans to add two new aircraft to its fleet by the end of the year.
Bamboo Airways is seeking additional capital of around VND1.69 trillion (US$66.8 million) in the final months of 2024 to ensure its operational requirements, while also announcing the clearance of aircraft leasing debts.
Bamboo Airways and the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) on July 10 signed a cooperation contract worth US$36 million.
VOV.VN - Bamboo Airways has received an Airbus A320 from Royal Air Philippines under a wet lease arrangement to meet increasing demand for travel during the 2024 peak summer holiday season.
