VOV.VN - The iconic Golden Bridge in Da Nang city, Vietnam, has been ranked among the 19 most beautiful bridges in the world by the British travel magazine Time Out, placing it ahead of some of the world’s most timeless and iconic structures.
Designed as a dramatic pedestrian bridge, the Golden Bridge extends 150 metres high in the Sun World Ba Na Hills resort, perched roughly 1,000 metres above sea level. Its standout architectural feature is a pair of giant stone-like hands that appear to lift the golden pathway from the mountainside - a visual spectacle that has captured global attention and made the bridge a social media phenomenon.
Opened in June 2018, the bridge was built to connect the cable car station with gardens and panoramic viewpoints, offering sweeping views over Da Nang and the surrounding highlands. Its harmonious blend of engineering, landscape and cultural appeal were key factors in the Time Out ranking.
The inclusion of Vietnam’s Golden Bridge in the top 5 highlights the country’s creative architectural innovation and rising tourism appeal on the world stage. Unlike traditional bridges, the Golden Bridge’s location, concept and visual impact make it both a cultural icon and a social media landmark that resonates globally.
18 other bridges on the Time Out list are Stari Most (Bosnia and Herzegovina); Double Decker Root Bridge (India); Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe / Zambia); Brooklyn (USA); Allahverdi Khan (Iran); Chapel (Switzerland); The Twist (Norway); Capilano Suspension (Canada); Cirkelbroen (Denmark); Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil); Széchenyi Chain (Hungary); Mistico Park Hanging (Costa Rica); Sydney Harbour (Australia); Výton (Czech Republic); Helix (Singapore); New River Gorge (USA); Q’eswachaka Suspension (Peru); and Xianren (China).
