VOV.VN - An Indian billionaire family is expected to host a four-day wedding in Nha Trang in December, further highlighting Vietnam's growing appeal among India's ultra-wealthy for luxury destination weddings.
The Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the province is coordinating with relevant agencies, organisations and businesses to prepare for the event and meet the requirements of the Indian partner.
According to Thai Thi Le Hang, director of the department, the tourism sector will hold meetings to review preparations, including accommodation, transportation and services for the international group, to ensure the wedding runs smoothly and safely.
Phan Quang Dai, general director of Blue Lemon Vietnam Co., Ltd., which is coordinating the event, revealed the wedding is scheduled to take place from December 9 to 13, with around 1,400 guests from several countries. The total cost is estimated at around VND130 billion (approx. US$5 million).
The guests will travel from India to Cam Ranh International Airport on a chartered flight. A team of chefs from India will also travel to Vietnam to prepare meals in accordance with Indian culinary traditions and the guests' preferences.
During their four-day stay in Nha Trang, the guests will take part in a series of activities designed around a luxury Indian wedding, including traditional ceremonies, wedding receptions, entertainment programmes, culinary experiences and activities at the resort.
The organisers also plan to hold a welcoming ceremony for the bride's and groom's families at Cam Ranh International Airport.
The event comes as Vietnam is gradually strengthening its position on the regional destination wedding map.
In recent years, an increasing number of wealthy and ultra-wealthy Indian families have chosen destinations such as Da Nang, Ha Long, Phu Quoc and now Nha Trang to host multi-day weddings attended by hundreds or even thousands of guests.
In the first four months of 2026 alone, Quang Ninh hosted six weddings for Indian billionaire families, with each event costing millions of US dollars. Meanwhile, Da Nang recorded more than 50 international weddings in 2025 and has continued to attract leading Indian wedding planners.
According to tourism experts, the luxury destination wedding segment not only generates substantial revenue for hotels, resorts and service providers but also creates significant spillover effects for destinations.
Weddings typically last several days and involve a wide range of services, including air travel, accommodation, event organisation, catering, transportation, sightseeing and shopping. They can also serve as a powerful form of destination promotion, as hundreds of international guests experience the destination first-hand and share images and experiences with their networks.
Nha Trang’s selection as the venue for another large-scale wedding for an Indian billionaire family therefore represents more than a success for the locality. It also reflects Vietnam's growing appeal in the luxury tourism segment.
With its natural scenery, resort infrastructure and capacity to host international events, Vietnam is gradually emerging as one of Asia’s leading destinations for lavish weddings among India’s ultra-wealthy.
