VOV.VN - Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is a captivating site located in Cao Bang province that features an array of pristine majestic scenery, along with being home to some of the most unique historical and cultural sites in the northeastern region.
Situated close to the border with China approximately 300 km north of Hanoi, Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark covers a total area of 3,000 km2.
The site spreads over many districts of Cao Bang province, including Ha Quang, Tra Linh, Trung Khanh, Ha Lang, Phuc Hoa, Hoa An, Nguyen Binh, and Thach An. The park is most well-known for its high rate of biological diversity, along with being home to abundant endemic flora-fauna species and ecosystems.
A total of nine different ethnic groups live throughout the park, including the Tay, Nung, H’Mong, and Dao people, each with rich cultural identities and unique traditions.
The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognises Non Nuoc Cao Bang as a Global Geopark in April, 2018.
Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is divided into east and west, with each part offering visitors a different experience.
Tourists can enjoy discover karst landscapes in the eastern part of the park.
Ban Gioc waterfall was officially recognised as a national scenic spot back in 1997.
Thang Hen lake is one of the most popular spots throughout Cao Bang province.
Tourists should not miss out on discovering the craft villages of the local ethnic groups.
Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda can be found roughly 500 metres from Ban Gioc waterfall.
