VOV.VN - Soi Sim Beach, a quiet jade beauty in the heart of Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province, has been named among the top 100 beaches in the world curated by Corona's global experts.
On its “Corona Beach 100” list, the US-based organisation Corona wrote that Soi Sim gets its name from the “sim” tree (rose myrtle), which grows all over the island and bursts into bright purple blooms in late summer.
With warm golden sand, greenish water, and a jungle-topped hill rising behind it, this hidden gem in Ha Long Bay is a calm, quiet spot in a sea of otherworldly limestone peaks. Just a short boat ride from the busy cruise routes, Soi Sim feels far away, perfect for swimming, hiking, or simply floating away with a view of the bay’s thousand-island skyline, it shared.
Corona suggested that October to April is the best time to see clear skies and calm seas in Soi Sim Beach. Dry season brings gentle breezes, cooler air, and Ha Long Bay at its most photogenic. It’s ideal for swimming, kayaking, and watching the sunrise there.
May to September is the most suitable for warm water and fewer boats. A little hotter, a little wilder — but fewer crowds and perfect water for early-morning swims, the website added.
In Southeast Asia, besides Soi Sim beach, the list also includes Alegria, Cloud 9, and Nacpan beaches in the Philippines; Koh Mak and Railay islands in Thailand; and Padar and Labuan Bajo Red Beach in Indonesia.
