VOV.VN - According to the latest Green Shoots Radar report released by Visa, the world's leading electronic payment firm, the frequency of international travel among Vietnamese people is significantly increasing, with 30% of citizens travelling abroad for leisure or business purposes last year.
According to the report, the Republic of Korea (RoK) emerged as the top entertainment tourist destination for Vietnamese tourists with 24% of respondents travelling there last year. The RoK was followed by China at 17% and Japan at 16%.
For business purposes, Australia led the list with 19% of Vietnamese respondents' choices, followed by China, Thailand, and the RoK.
The report also revealed that 40% of Vietnamese tourists tended to book flight tickets directly from airline websites. In particular, 49% of customers chose e-wallet payments, while 29% chose to make credit card payments.
The Green Shoots Radar report also showed that 41% of local survey respondents planned to have an overseas leisure holiday in the next six months. Their top three destinations of choice are Australia, China, and the RoK.
Group tourists from three Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, can travel without a visa to the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Jeonllanam-do province (Jeonnam) through Muan international airport until March 2025, according to a statement released by the provincial administration on February 27.
Vietnam is the destination with the highest number of business class bookings, followed by Thailand and Japan, according to data from Gmarket’s analysis of 2023 airline ticket sales in the Republic of Korea (RoK) market.
