VOV.VN - Vietnam’s tourism industry is on track to achieve record-breaking revenue in 2025, with total earnings expected to exceed VND1 quadrillion, representing a 19% increase compared to 2024, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT).
The projection was announced at a meeting held in Hanoi on December 24, where VNAT reviewed tourism performance in 2025 and outlined plans for 2026. Industry representatives highlighted strong growth across several key destinations nationwide.
Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to generate VND260 trillion in tourism revenue, a 36.1% year-on-year increase while Hanoi is projected to earn VND134.46 trillion, up 21.5%.
Other notable performers include An Giang province which is to record an impressive 92% increase to VND67.94 trillion, and Khanh Hoa province, where tourism revenue is estimated at more than VND62.58 trillion, an increase of 18.4%. Other high-growth destinations are Quang Ninh, Lam Dong, Ninh Binh, Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Quang Tri.
According to the VNAT, tourism activities are thriving nationwide, with many provinces introducing new programmes and service packages to enhance visitor experiences, spending, and satisfaction. Efforts to improve safety, hygiene, and overall service quality have also contributed to the industry’s growth.
Vietnam’s tourism infrastructure continues to improve, with ongoing investment in resorts, accommodation facilities, entertainment venues, transport networks, airports, and seaports, providing a solid foundation for long-term expansion. In addition, active promotion campaigns, such as the “Vietnam – Travel to Love” programme, have further helped attract tourists.
The local tourism industry aims to welcome 25 million international visitors and 150 million domestic tourists in 2026, with total revenue expected to hit approximately VND1.125 quadrillion.
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City has introduced a targeted policy to support meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism, focusing on large-scale groups of at least 100 delegates that meet strict requirements, including a minimum stay of three nights and at least two days of sightseeing in the city.
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) outlined a clear roadmap for tourism development in the coming years at a tourism review conference in Hue City on December 20, aiming to position tourism as a truly leading economic sector.
