VOV.VN - A special concert night titled Crescendo-Symphony of Connection, part of the Music Festival & Competition 2026 series was held in Hanoi on July 4 at the Octagonal Pavilion by Hoan Kiem Lake, as part of the capital’s efforts to bring art closer to the public.
The program, organized by Hanoi’s Department of Culture and Sports, reaffirmed the capital’s commitment to cultural development under the orientation of “Culture-Identity-Creativity-Integration-Connection.”
The concert night featured the Crescendo Festival Orchestra, along with a large number of artists, professors, music experts and outstanding young talents from Vietnam and many countries around the world.
More than a gathering of international talent, the event served as a bridge connecting classical music with everyday life, fostering community engagement and underscoring Hanoi’s commitment after officially joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
The choice of the Octagonal Pavilion, an open public space by Hoan Kiem Lake, as the performance venue showed Hanoi’s evolving cultural vision of bringing art closer to the public, allowing more people to access high-quality artistic experiences.
The concert night helped narrow the distance between classical music and audiences, leaving a lasting cultural impression on both residents and visitors.
Designed as a diverse cultural journey, Crescendo- Symphony of Connection guided audiences through different places and emotional landscapes.
The opening performance, Summer by Antonio Vivaldi, performed by violinist Trinh Minh Hien, brought vibrant energy to the lakeside venue.
This was followed by Một Vòng Việt Nam (A Journey Around Vietnam), conducted by young conductor Dustin Tieu, stirring a sense of national pride. International friendship was highlighted through Hello Vietnam, performed by Austrian talent Shamiyeh Christina alongside Vietnamese artist Nguyen Huu Quan.
Audiences then continued their musical journey across different regions of Vietnam through familiar folk melodies presented in refined arrangements.
“Trống cơm” (Rice Drum) was performed in a piano duet by Nguyen Huy Phuong and Nguyen Trinh Huong.
Artist Le Thu brought the folk song “Qua cầu gió bay” (Crossing the Bridge as the Wind Blows) to life through the warm, simple sound of the guitar.
Meanwhile, “Bèo dạt mây trôi” (Drifting Water Ferns and Floating Clouds), performed by 13-year-old talent Nguyen Minh Viet, left a strong impression on the audience.
From world classics to Vietnam’s folk melodies, Crescendo – Symphony of Connection wove together a rich musical tapestry reflecting friendship and lasting connections among cultures.
The program also reinforced Hanoi’s position as a destination for international music events and cultural exchanges.
The concert night helped promote Hanoi’s image as a City for Peace and a Creative City, while reflecting the capital’s commitment to implementing Resolution No. 80 of the Politburo on cultural development in the new era.
VOV.VN - Hanoi will host a free open-air symphony concert on July 4 at the Octagonal Pavilion beside Hoan Kiem Lake, bringing together leading musicians, conductors and young performers from Vietnam and several other countries as part of the Crescendo International Music Festival 2026.
