President hosts banquet for delegates to Hanoi Convention signing ceremony

VOV.VN - President Luong Cuong of Vietnam hosted a state banquet in honour of the delegations attending the signing ceremony of the UN Convention against Cybercrime (Hanoi Convention) and its subsequent high-level dialogue, in Hanoi on the evening of October 25.

In his remarks, President Cuong warmly welcomed leaders and heads of delegations from UN member states and international organisations to Vietnam, expressing appreciation for their participation in what he described as “a meaningful and historic day.”

He noted that the signing ceremony marked a memorable milestone, with Hanoi honoured to be associated with a global convention aimed at strengthening international cooperation in cybersecurity.

Highlighting Hanoi as a thousand-year-old capital where tradition meets modernity, President Cuong said the city embodies the spirit of innovation and digital aspiration in the new era. The Hanoi Convention, he added, symbolises both Vietnam’ and Hanoi’s growing role in global integration - a place where history is preserved, the present is connected, and the future opens through technology and knowledge.

“Today, the world is linked by billions of digital connections, yet trust remains the strongest ‘wireless signal’ binding us together,” President Cuong said. “Behind every negotiation and legal clause, the most valuable outcomes are sincerity, trust, and friendship.”

He called on nations to turn commitments into concrete action so that the Hanoi Convention can soon take effect, spreading hope and confidence in a safer, more human-centred digital future.
