VOV.VN - The Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam has called for the synchronised implementation of multiple measures to ensure fuel supply and stabilise petroleum prices amid increasing global volatility.
In its newly issued Conclusion No. 14, the Politburo tasked the Government Party Committee with urgently directing relevant agencies to closely monitor developments and strengthen forecasting of global supply, demand, and fuel prices, thereby enabling proactive and effective response scenarios.
The Politburo emphasised the need for flexible use of policy tools, including fiscal measures such as taxes, fees, and budget spending, as well as monetary instruments covering interest rate support, credit access, and foreign currency availability. Price management and trade policies are also expected to play a key role in maintaining market stability.
At the same time, authorities were instructed to step up inspections and supervision, tighten management of petroleum traders, and strictly handle violations such as smuggling, hoarding, and trade fraud aimed at profiteering.
The Conclusion also encourages energy-saving practices to help stabilise supply and mitigate the impact of fuel price fluctuations on production, business activities, and people’s daily lives, thereby contributing to macroeconomic stability and social order.
In addition, the Politburo underscored the need to soon develop a national strategy on fuel supply and reserves for both the short and long term.
Party committees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Ministry of Finance were assigned to proactively coordinate with international partners to facilitate domestic enterprises’ access to fuel resources, ensuring stable supply for production and business operations.
Meanwhile, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilisation was tasked with directing media agencies to provide appropriate and timely information to help stabilise market sentiment.
The Conclusion also requires Party organisations at all levels to fully implement socio-economic development policies while ensuring national defence and security, promoting unity, overcoming challenges, and maintaining the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth in 2026 and the years ahead.
