VOV.VN - A tourist boat caught fire while cruising near Hang Co area in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province, on February 27, but all 41 people on board were brought safely ashore, local authorities said.
The vessel, Signature QN-7269, was carrying 30 tourists and 11 crew members at the time of the incident. Upon detecting the fire, the captain and crew immediately activated on-site emergency procedures, guiding passengers to put on life jackets and evacuate the vessel.
A distress signal was sent, prompting nearby forces operating on the bay to swiftly respond and assist in containing the blaze. The fire was later extinguished completely, and the boat did not sink.
All passengers and crew members are reported to be in stable condition.
Provincial authorities dispatched officials to the scene to oversee response efforts and provide support to affected tourists.
Police are currently securing the site and investigating the cause of the fire.
