Two Vietnamese women safely rescued from Japan mountain climbing

VOV.VN - Japanese rescue forces on July 15 safely rescued two female Vietnamese hikers who were left stranded on Mount Biei in Hokkaido during mountaineering there, according to Japanese police and firefighters.

The police said two Vietnamese women in their 30s had sent a distress signal at 6 p.m. on July 14 (local time) saying that they were exhausted and unable to hike any further.

The pair were hiking with another two people in their group. Two of the members had gone down the mountain to call the fire department for help after one of their companions injured her knee and was unable to move.

The two female hikers were then forced to spend the night in a tent on the mountain. The rescue team later confirmed that the pair were found safe at midnight, but due to the dangerous terrain and darkness they could not guarantee the safety of the injured woman if they immediately moved her by road.

The rescue team ultimately had to mobilise a helicopter to the scene on July 15 morning to rescue and bring the two Vietnamese women down the mountain safely.
