The issue was discussed during a working session in Austria on June 17 between Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang and Vice President of the Vietnam–Austria Friendship Association Nguyen Do Tung Cuong, and Rosenbauer Group in Upper Austria. Rosenbauer is currently the world’s largest manufacturer of firefighting vehicles, equipment and technological solutions for fire prevention, rescue operations and emergency response.
At the meeting, Hoang highly appreciated Rosenbauer’s contributions to cooperation programmes between Vietnam and Austria in the fields of firefighting and rescue services over the years.
Representatives of Rosenbauer noted that since the company began cooperating with Vietnam in 1988, numerous projects and cooperation initiatives have been implemented, helping modernise equipment and strengthen Vietnam’s capacity to respond to fires, natural disasters and other emergency situations.
The partnership has become one of the highlights of Vietnam–Austria cooperation in promoting community safety and addressing non-traditional security challenges, they said.
Looking ahead, the Austrian side expressed its desire to further expand existing cooperation programmes and explore the implementation of a new Official Development Assistance (ODA) project in firefighting and rescue services.
The proposed initiatives are expected to support Vietnam’s efforts to enhance public safety, improve emergency response capabilities and meet growing demands in disaster management and rescue operations.
Both sides also emphasised the important role of people-to-people diplomacy in strengthening bilateral ties, expressing confidence that practical cooperation in emergency response and public safety would contribute to further deepening the traditional friendship and multifaceted partnership between Vietnam and Austria in a sustainable and effective manner.
