VOV.VN - The Vietnam EPS Management and Support Office in the Republic of Korea (RoK), in coordination with the Jeonbuk Provincial Center for Foreign Worker Support on September 7 organized a meeting to provide legal advice to Vietnamese workers participating in the Employment Permit System (EPS).
The event attracted a large number of Vietnamese workers from Jeonbuk and surrounding areas, along with representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK, Vietnamese associations, among others.
Representing the Vietnamese Embassy to the RoK, An Vu Binh, standing member of the Embasssy’s Party Committee, emphasized the vital role of Vietnamese workers in RoK’s economic development and praised their diligence, perseverance, and discipline.
Following him, Le Thi Kim Han, First Secretary of the Labor Management Office, provided information on the EPS program and offered practical recommendations to help workers comply with contracts, follow the law, and avoid overstaying. She also highlighted the benefits of compliance, including opportunities for re-employment, and affirmed the positive image of Vietnamese workers due to their quick learning, hard work, and adaptability to the working environment in RoK.
Chu Quang Duong, Head of the EPS Office in RoK, updated participants on relevant policies and procedures, including residence registration, information updates, visa changes, insurance contributions and claims, reporting upon return, and refund of deposits. He also provided guidance on support policies and employment opportunities for returning workers to ensure their rights and compliance with contracts.
From the RoK side, Lee Kyeong Eun, Director of the Jeonbuk Provincial Center for Foreign Worker Support, commended Vietnamese workers’ proactive spirit and perseverance. She emphasized the importance of events like this in helping Vietnamese workers operate safely and effectively, and reaffirmed that the center will continue to support them promptly when unexpected issues arise.
Recently, the Vietnam Labor Management Office and the EPS Office have actively coordinated with relevant RoK agencies to welcome incoming workers, provide procedural guidance at training centers, and resolve arising issues quickly, thus ensuring Vietnamese workers can work with peace of mind.
According to the RoK Ministry of Justice, as of July 31, 2025, there are more than 97,000 Vietnamese workers in RoK, accounting for nearly 29% of the Vietnamese community in the country. In Jeonbuk province alone, 1,164 EPS workers are currently employed, primarily in manufacturing, fisheries, agriculture, and construction.
VOV.VN - Nearly 74,700 Vietnamese workers went abroad for employment in the first half of this year, fulfilling 57.4% of the annual target, according to the Department of Overseas Labour Management under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
