Luxury cruise ship brings over 3,000 tourists to Thua Thien Hue

The ship brought with it more than 3,000 passengers and crew members on board to visit Hue Imperial City. This marks the 30th international cruise ship to dock at Chan May port since the beginning of the year.

After disembarking, half of the tourists and crew members spent time visiting the Complex of Hue Monuments and scenic spots around Hue, while the rest took a heritage tour in Da Nang and Hoi An Ancient Town in the central province of Quang Nam.

This year, Chan May Port is expected to welcome a total of 41 cruise ships with over 90,000 passengers and crew members. Since the beginning of the year, the port has welcomed 30 ships with nearly 60,000 tourists and crew members.

The number of ships registering to dock at Chan May port is expected to increase by about 15% next year.

The same day saw the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism officially put the Tourist Information and Support Center at Chan May Port into operation.

The centre is expected to provide tourists with information relating to tourism, destinations, tours to explore Hue; and various types of tourism such as community, ecological, and spiritual tourism, as well as traditional craft villages.

In addition, on display at the centre will be a range of specialties, souvenirs, and typical handicraft products to elevate the culture and image of Hue to cruise tourists.
