VOV.VN - Hanoi will set off fireworks in six locations on the evening of September 2 to celebrate Vietnam’s 80th National Day, according to a plan issued by the Hanoi People’s Committee on August 22.
The designated launch locations are in front of Hanoi Moi Newspaper headquarters (Hoan Kiem ward), in front of Hanoi Post Office (Hoan Kiem ward), at Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung ward), in front of the Aquatic Sports Arena (National Sports Complex - Tu Liem ward), at Lac Long Quan Flower Garden (Tay Ho ward), and at Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong ward).
Each fireworks site will launch 600 high-altitude shells and 90 low-altitude racks, with the display lasting for 15 minutes, from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM, authorities said in the plan.
The Hanoi Capital Command is required to oversee the organisation, while coordinating with the municipal police to ensure strict control over patrols, site security, and fire safety before, during, and after the shows.
The Hanoi Police Department is tasked with developing and implementing plans to secure social order, direct traffic flow around fireworks areas, and ensure smooth transport of pyrotechnic equipment to the launch sites. They will also deploy personnel and vehicles for fire prevention and response.
Local authorities in Hoan Kiem, Tu Liem, Tay Ho, and Hai Ba Trung wards are instructed to lead community engagement efforts, organise cultural and artistic performances at the fireworks sites, and be prepared to respond to any emergencies.
