VOV.VN - Tay Ninh provincial authorities awarded an investment registration certificate for the Be Milk dairy factory project valued at more than US$100 million in investment capital at a recent investment promotion conference in Belgium.
The project, announced at the conference in Brussels on June 19, will be invested by Swiss Asia Partner at Prodezi Industrial Park in Luong Hoa commune.
According to provincial authorities, the awarding of the certificate during the conference reflects European businesses’ confidence in Tay Ninh’s investment environment and demonstrates the province’s continued efforts to improve the business climate and support investors.
Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Quyet highlighted the strong and longstanding relationship between Vietnam and Belgium, noting that the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) is creating new opportunities for businesses from both sides to expand investment and trade ties and deepen their integration into global value chains.
He said Tay Ninh, with an economic scale exceeding US$14 billion, ranks among Vietnam’s top ten largest local economies and enjoys a strategic location connecting Ho Chi Minh City with ASEAN markets.
He expressed Tay Ninh’s desire to become a trusted partner for Belgian businesses, particularly in circular economy projects, clean energy, environmental technology, biotechnology and high-tech agriculture. He reaffirmed the province’s commitment to providing favourable conditions for investors seeking long-term cooperation and development.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Nguyen Van Thao described Tay Ninh as a promising destination for a new wave of European investment, citing its strategic location and conducive business environment. He noted that as the EVFTA continues to deliver benefits, Belgian companies are increasingly interested in expanding cooperation in Vietnam, especially in logistics, green industry, high-tech agriculture and sustainable development.
The ambassador believed Tay Ninh's clear development strategy and business-friendly approach would further strengthen its appeal to Belgian and European investors.
Introducing the province's investment climate, Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son said the province currently hosts more than 2,000 active investment projects with total registered capital of approximately US$26 billion, ranking among Vietnam's leading destinations for foreign direct investment.
Son also noted that Tay Ninh was recently recognised among the top three localities with the most outstanding reform achievements during the 20-year journey of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) from 2005 to 2025, reflecting the province's ongoing efforts to improve the business environment and support investors.
The conference also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Belgium and Luxembourg and Tay Ninh province. The document aims to strengthen connections with overseas Vietnamese experts and intellectuals in the fields of scientific research, innovation and high-quality human resource development.
