Top leader expects stronger partnership with RoK toward US$150 bil trade target

VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and President To Lam has showed a desire for stronger bilateral ties across politics, economics, trade, and investment, aiming to soon achieve the US$150 billion trade target by 2030 in a balanced and sustainable manner with the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Receiving RoK Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yun Duk in Hanoi on July 30, To Lam expressed his belief that the visit by the RoK guest will contribute to boosting economic cooperation in particular and the Vietnam - RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in general. On this occasion, he extended warm regards to RoK President Lee Jae Myung, expressing confidence that under his leadership, the RoK will achieve even greater achievements moving forward.

The Vietnamese leader expressed satisfaction with practical outcomes in bilateral ties over recent times, affirming that Vietnam attaches great importance to the relationship. He wished to strongly advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across politics, economy, trade, investment, science and technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, while hoping the RoK will accompany Vietnam in implementing strategic national development goals.

Hailing close cooperation between Vietnam's Ministry of Construction and the RoK's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, General Secretary and President To Lam asked both sides to enhance experience sharing and fruitful cooperation in infrastructure construction, renewable energy, shipbuilding technology, and high-quality human resources development, areas prioritized by Vietnam in its new era.

For his part, Minister Kim Yun Duk conveyed warm greetings from RoK President Lee Jae Myung to Party General Secretary and President To Lam and other senior Vietnamese leaders. Congratulating Vietnam on recent socio-economic achievements, the Minister expressed confidence that under the leadership of Party General Secretary and President To Lam, the Vietnamese people will continue to reap new successes, materializing goals of turning Vietnam into a developing nation with modern industry by 2030, and a developed, high-income country by 2045.

On this occasion, Minister Kim Yun Duk delivered a letter from RoK President Lee Jae Myung to To Lam, reiterating the desire to further boost bilateral cooperation. He emphasized that the RoK stands ready to share development experience in fields where it holds strengths and Vietnam has demands, while acting as a reliable partner to assist Vietnam in realizing its future development goals.

VFF strengthens ties with Vietnamese community in RoK
