The June 16-18 trip takes place as ASEAN and Russia mark 35 years of dialogue and cooperation, while the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Russia continues to advance across multiple sectors. It also marks Prime Minister Le Minh Hung’s first visit to Russia since assuming his current position.
The commemorative summit will provide an opportunity for leaders to comprehensively review the strategic partnership between ASEAN and Russia, assess achievements made over the past decades, and identify priorities for future cooperation.
Discussions are expected to focus on areas with significant potential for collaboration, including trade, science and technology, digital transformation, energy security, education, and tourism.
ASEAN and Russian leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern, with the aim of strengthening mutual understanding, building trust, and promoting cooperation based on international law. The summit is expected to adopt a number of important documents that will help shape the future direction of ASEAN-Russia relations.
